Who we areOur horse farm started in 2010. We moved here because our father retired and couldn't think of a better spot to stay busy. So we've kept him very busy :) Having our own private horses and many school horses for students fills up our days.
We all love our horses, dog, cats, chickens, ducks, and a mouse or two..... The farm offers a gorgeous view of the mountains, a walk across the street to enjoy the river and quiet serenity. We have always loved horses. That horse love grew into our passion to vigorously learn more about them and turn it into our business. We have been riding since the age of 6 and we spend all weekends at many barns. This turned into working at barns in our teenage years. When Suzie came across Parelli Natural Horsemanship it was an easy transition to follow the program which in turn led to becoming an instructor. Her sister, Jeanette, soon followed to become an instructor. Jeanette has run the farm since 2010, and in 2017 Suzie joined as a fellow instructor. We train using the Parelli Natural Horsemanship method which teaches you Love, Language, and Leadership with horses. We base our training method around understanding horse psychology and how they would act with each other in nature, instead of having a horse learn our human ways. We base our instruction on making sure the students are having fun as well as learning a ton. Learning how to train their own horses, versus just riding them. Training a horse from the ground is safer and provides more diversity for horses and students. Think dog agility, but with horses! This way you get a great understanding of how your horse behaves in different situations so you really know your horse and don't fear him. You will understand WHY he behaves the way he does. Why does a horse act silly, buck, rear, behave really well, or really badly, and you will learn methods to help your horse become a better partner for you. Please don't hesitate to set up an appointment so we can show you around! |
